App design feature design (AAR) - Albert
Albert, the bookkeeping app designed specifically for the self-employed to help them keep control of their finances on the go. Proudly, it's one of the UK’s highest rated finance app for the solo self-employed over 3,200 5-star reviews on the Apple app store.
Albert was built on a couple of important principles; building the best product and preventing people from being stressed about their finances.
As fans of super-simple productivity apps, we wanted to be true to Albert's main product proposition mantra of "make bookkeeping accessible, automated, easy to understand and simple to use". So funny enough, this was exactly what we planned for Albert's next new big feature - Automated Accounts Reconciliation (AAR).
AAR was designed in mind to truly automate bookkeeping within Albert's app, it was created to take advantage of open banking with the goal of allowing users to quickly and simply reconcile incoming and outgoing payments. We planned to create an app that would do all the heavy lifting by making use of machine learning and algorithms to level up Albert from being a "bookkeeping document storage tool" to becoming more of an actual "bookkeeper in your pocket"
For this project I crafted the product canvas, product strategy, competitor analysis, design analysis, app design audit, created and designed user research surveys, collated data, created user experience flows, mapped out the design flows as well as producing the final result (phew...)
Yep I did a lot of work on this one :)
